Homeschool Play Days

In addition to our Homeschool Enrichment Program, homeschool students are invited to enjoy exclusive creative play. Participants may extend their stay into the regular public programming time. Advance registration is not required.

Family Build Days

Saturday, March 23, May 25 & June 29
11 AM – 4 PM
Free

Working as a family unit, build a fort, play in the mud, make a craft or…! Parents and all ages are welcome. Advance registration is not required.

Toddler Play

Fridays, May 17 and October 18
11 AM – 2 PM
$5 per child

Younger children (toddlers and preschoolers) are invited to a special time just for them! Enjoy painting and mud fun as well as special age-appropriate activities. This is a great opportunity to let your little ones experience creative play in a positive and healthy environment. Advance registration is not required.

Roasted Nights

Friday, February 15 & Monday, November 18
6 – 8 PM
Suggested donation of $5 per person

Roast your own marshmallow, make a S’More, learn with matches, and enjoy more hot activities. Pre-register to guarantee dinner and a craft. Hot dog dinner includes chips and a drink. Parents are welcome, or children may be dropped off for adventure play fun! Children 5 & Under require an adult. Call or visit the Playground the Register.

Critter Week

Wednesday – Saturday, April 24 – 27

Spring is critter time at the Sacramento Adventure Playground! During Critter Week, we’ll have an assortment of critters, including the favorite silkworms and polliwogs, for a week of educational fun. Come anytime during public hours to see and interact with cool and gross things. Advance registration is not required.

Trunk-or-Treat

Thursday, October 31
3 – 5 PM
Free

Stop by the Maple Neighborhood Center on Halloween! Each of the various agencies will hot a Truck-or-Treat. Advance registration is not required.

Crafts and Science Day

Saturday, July 13
11 AM – 4 PM
Suggested donation of $5 per crafter/scientist

Enjoy specialized craft projects and fun science activities for all ages. Advance registration is not required.

Community Days

While the Sacramento Adventure Playground’s regular operating hours are designed for ages 6-15, the Playground opens up for children of all ages to come and play on Community Days. Children under 6 require an adult chaperone. Advance registration is not required. Community Days are held on the second Saturday of the month (except December and January) from 11 AM to 4 PM.

Obstacle Course Training Program

Obstacle Course racing is the new fun fitness trend.  The Saturday Training Program (9/7-10/5, 1-2pm) will cover the typical obstacles, tips and how to handle unknowns.  Price includes the Oct. 12 race at Maple Neighborhood Center and T-Shirt.  Other recommended races will be at the parents’ discretion, registration, transportation, cost, et al.  Staff will be participating in some of the recommended races (on the adult course).  Youth races are usually about 1 mile with 10-15 obstacles, most have mud.  Training Program Fee: $40.
